What is the perfect shower head height?
The answer is…… whatever works for you.
Industry Standard height is 6′ 8″ for the shower head (80″ off the ground). However the type and style of shower head you plan to install will affect this distance. Some shower heads have a long neck which could bring the overall height of the shower head down. If your shower has a hand held element, make sure the shortest person using the shower can reach it. Be sure you figure your desired finished height (of shower head) and place the rough in accordingly.
Let You be You. Maybe you or those using the shower are taller than average. Maybe they’re shorter than average. Some bathers may be seated. Some may be children. Design your shower height accordingly. A good rule of thumb is to plan for the shower head to end up approx 6″ above the tallest shower-er’s head, making sure it’s within reach of the shortest user.
Design. You may want to take into consideration the other design elements of the bathroom such as tile size, grout lines, ceiling height etc. Factor everything in before the rough in gets installed.
