Happy Chinese New Year! Asian Inspired Touches

2017 is the year of the Rooster! Poultry references aside, adding some Asian influences into your design decor can be beautiful AND beneficial. According to fenshuipundit.com, “..it’s vital to feng shui a bathroom in the home; this’ll minimize – or possibly eliminate – the draining or flushing of “good” from life.”

General feng shui tips include:

  • Make sure to keep the toilet lid closed,
  • Keep the bathroom clean, fresh and airy. Use a good air freshener.
  • Place a mirror on the door of the bathroom, this’ll make the “Qi” bounce back into the house/room and not enter the bathroom or toilet.
  • Avoid clutter in the bathroom; in fact avoid it everywhere.
  • Avoid leaking taps and faucets; replace them immediately else they’ll flush away the money.

A TOTO Washlet will keep your toilet seat down for you – and eliminate any he-said/she-said.

Other Asian inspired touches for your kitchen and bath:

Natural elements
Bamboo or wood elements add warmth. Take a look at a bamboo sink or vanity. Bamboo sinks are made of solid bamboo slabs put together to form a sink bowl, and then sealed. They CAN leak if not maintained. Wash bamboo sinks with mild soap and a soft sponge or cloth and be sure to wipe off/dry excess water to eliminate the risk of water spots and residue buildup. No two bamboo sinks look alike, and a bamboo sink can be a beautiful addition to your kitchen.
